Twenty years on the same side of the port.
We started with a handful of local consignments and a simple promise: pack it properly, price it honestly, and deliver it when we said we would. Two decades later, that's still the whole business.
Year one Today
Who we are
A hands-on freight team.
Lotus Cargo is a shipping and logistics company based in Chennai, handling international freight forwarding, courier services and complete door-to-door logistics for exporters, importers, small businesses and families.
Most of what we do is unglamorous and it's meant to be. A crate built to survive six weeks at sea. A packing list that matches the invoice. A real person who answers when a customer wants to know where their goods are. Do those consistently for twenty years and you don't need to advertise much.
Today we move cargo by air and sea, and clear it through customs ourselves — so a customer books once and hears from one person until it's delivered.
Stage one
Local freight, done properly
The business began moving domestic consignments for a small group of Chennai traders — and built its reputation on packing that arrived intact.
Stage two
Across the water
Customers started exporting, so we added sea and air freight forwarding and learned the documentation side properly rather than farming it out.
Stage three
Courier and personal shipments
An international courier desk followed, along with household goods and excess baggage for families relocating abroad.
